I love a bathroom project that looks far more expensive than it actually is, and this cotton holder is exactly that kind of make. By attaching a few clear glass hurricane vases onto a small round marble tray, you can create a polished organizer for cotton balls, cotton swabs, and makeup rounds that feels right at home on a vanity or guest bath counter.

1. Wash the marble tray and the bottoms of the glass hurricane vases with warm soapy water, then dry them fully. Wipe the contact surfaces with rubbing alcohol so the adhesive bonds cleanly.
2. Set the marble tray on a flat work surface and arrange the three glass vases on top until you like the spacing. Keep a gap of about 1/2 inch between each vase and the tray edge so the finished piece looks balanced.
3. Use a pencil or washable marker to make tiny placement marks around each vase, or place short tabs of painter's tape on the tray to outline their positions. Lift the vases off carefully once the layout is marked.
4. Apply a thin, even bead of clear adhesive around the bottom rim of the first vase. Press it onto the tray inside the marked position and hold it steady for 20 to 30 seconds.
5. Repeat with the remaining two vases, checking from above as you go to keep the arrangement centered. Wipe away any squeezed-out adhesive right away with a clean cloth.
6. Add painter's tape from the sides of the vases down to the tray if needed to prevent shifting while the adhesive sets. Let the piece cure according to the adhesive directions, usually 12 to 24 hours, without moving it.
7. Once fully cured, remove the tape and gently test each vase for a solid bond. If any vase shifts, add a little more adhesive around the base and allow it to cure again.
8. Fill one vase with cotton balls, one with cotton swabs, and one with round cotton pads. Turn the open sides forward or keep them symmetrical, depending on how you want the holder to look on the counter.
Variations & Tips
Use matching glass shapes: If you cannot find hurricane vases, short cylinder vases with flat bottoms work beautifully too. The key is keeping all three containers similar in height so the piece feels intentional.
Choose the right adhesive: I strongly recommend a clear waterproof adhesive rated for glass and stone. In a bathroom, humidity matters, and the stronger bond will hold up much better over time.
Try a two-vase version: For a smaller vanity, use two slightly larger glass vases on a 6- to 8-inch tray. That setup is perfect if you mainly need room for swabs and cotton rounds.
Add felt underneath: If your marble tray does not already have protective feet, stick on 3 or 4 small felt pads underneath. This keeps the tray from scratching the countertop and helps it stay put.
Keep the palette simple: In my own kitchen and bath styling, I find that clear glass, white marble, and white cotton always look fresh and calm. If you want a warmer look, use a cream-toned stone tray or antique brass accents nearby rather than changing the organizer itself.
Clean it gently: Wipe the tray and vase exteriors with a damp soft cloth, and avoid soaking the whole piece. That little bit of restraint helps preserve the adhesive bond and keeps the marble looking polished.
