This simple setup uses a white tension rod and small brass S-hooks to create an easy-access measuring cup rack inside the pantry door, and it’s perfect for anyone who wants better organization without drilling holes.
Materials
1 white adjustable tension rod, 18 to 28 inches long
Instructions
1. Measure the inside width of your pantry door or the narrow storage area where you want to mount the rack, and choose a spot that lets the measuring cups hang without bumping shelves.
2. Wipe the mounting area clean so the tension rod grips better and stays in place over time.
3. Twist the white tension rod to extend it, then set it horizontally inside the pantry door area at a comfortable reach height.
4. Test the rod with a gentle downward pull to make sure it feels snug; if it slides, remove it and tighten it another turn or two.
5. Slip the small brass S-hooks evenly across the rod, spacing them so each measuring cup will hang flat and stay easy to grab.
6. Hang each measuring cup by its handle hole onto its own S-hook, arranging them from smallest to largest so the set is easy to scan while cooking.
7. Open and close the pantry door slowly to check clearance, and adjust the rod height or cup spacing if anything taps the shelves or door frame.
8. Use the extra hooks for measuring spoons, a small funnel, or lightweight kitchen tools if you have room, keeping the heaviest items closest to the rod ends for stability.
9. Give the rod one final check after loading it, then enjoy having your measuring cups visible instead of buried in a drawer.
Variations & Tips
For measuring spoons: If your spoon set has a ring, remove it and hang each spoon on its own hook, or dedicate one hook to the whole set for faster cleanup.
For renters: This is one of my favorite no-drill pantry upgrades because it comes down easily and usually leaves nothing behind if the rod is installed properly.
For better stability: Choose a rod with rubber ends and avoid overloading the center; that small detail makes a big difference in how secure it feels.
