1. Wash and dry the glass cloche, then wipe the wooden candle lid clean so there is no wax residue, dust, or oil left on the surface.
2. Lightly sand the top and edge of the wooden lid with the fine-grit sandpaper to smooth any rough spots and give it a fresh, finished look.
3. If you want a more polished finish, rub on a thin coat of clear matte sealer or clear wax, then let it dry fully before assembling the dispenser.
4. Arrange the cotton rounds in a tight upright circle on the wooden lid, slightly overlapping them so they create a full outer ring that follows the round shape of the base.
5. Tuck the cotton balls into the center of the ring to fill the middle generously, fluffing them a bit so the display looks full and soft instead of packed flat.
6. Set the glass cloche over the cotton-filled lid and check the fit; the glass should sit neatly around the cotton without crushing it and still leave the wooden base visible all the way around.
7. If you’d like the base and cloche to stay paired together when moved, place 3 to 4 tiny dots of clear museum gel around the rim area of the wooden lid and press the cloche down gently so it stays secure but removable.
8. Place the finished dispenser beside the sink, on a vanity tray, or near your skincare items, and refill it whenever the cotton level dips so it always looks abundant and ready to use.

For cotton rounds only: If your family uses mostly cotton rounds, skip the cotton balls and fill the entire cloche with stacked or upright rounds for a very crisp, spa-like look.
For small bathrooms: Choose a shorter cloche and a slightly narrower candle lid so the dispenser fits easily on a crowded vanity without taking over the counter.
