I’m awfully fond of little household tricks that make an everyday chore feel tidier, and this is one of those satisfying fixes that takes all of five minutes. By sliding a stack of fabric softener sheets into a small ceramic tissue box cover, you get a clean, easy-to-grab dryer sheet dispenser that looks far nicer on a laundry room shelf than a crinkly cardboard box.
It’s especially nice for anyone who likes their utility spaces to feel a bit more put together without spending much money or taking on a complicated project. I’ve always believed even a workhorse room like the laundry room deserves a little order and charm, and this simple swap does both in the easiest way.

Instructions
1. Empty the ceramic tissue box cover and wipe it inside and out with a dry microfiber cloth; if it has dust or sticker residue, wash it with mild dish soap and warm water, then dry it completely.
2. Turn the ceramic cover upside down and press one adhesive felt pad onto each bottom corner so it will slide less and won’t scratch your shelf or washer top.
3. Open the box of fabric softener sheets and remove the full stack carefully, keeping the sheets aligned so they feed neatly.
4. If the stack is taller than your ceramic cover, divide it into two even stacks and start with one stack inside the dispenser, storing the second stack nearby for refills.
5. Slide the stack of sheets down into the ceramic tissue box cover from the bottom opening, with the folded edges running front to back so the top sheet will lift smoothly toward the opening.
6. Gently pull the corner of the top dryer sheet up through the top slot, then ease a little more of the sheet through until you have a soft tab that is easy to grab.
7. Set the filled dispenser on a shelf, countertop, or on top of the dryer where you naturally reach for dryer sheets, and test-pull one sheet to make sure it dispenses cleanly.
8. Refill it the same way whenever the stack gets low, and give the ceramic cover a quick wipe every so often to keep the whole laundry area looking fresh.
Variations & Tips
Use a partial stack: If your ceramic cover is on the smaller side, don’t force a bulky stack into it. A half stack dispenses better and still gives you plenty on hand.
Pick the right opening: A tissue box cover with a smooth oval or rectangle opening works best because it won’t snag the sheets as you pull them out.
Match your laundry room: White ceramic looks crisp and classic, but cream, pale blue, or soft gray also look lovely if you want the dispenser to blend with your room.
Keep refills close: I like to tuck the extra dryer sheets into a basket or cabinet right above the machines, so refilling takes no more effort than replacing a tissue box.
Try it with scent boosters nearby: If you use other laundry supplies, this little dispenser looks especially neat grouped on a tray with a lidded jar or a small basket to make the whole area feel intentional.
Check the glaze: Make sure the ceramic cover is smooth inside and around the top opening; a rough chip can catch delicate sheets and make them tear.
