This little bathroom organizer is one of those projects I love because it takes about five minutes, uses simple pieces, and instantly makes the counter look tidier and more put together. By stacking soft white cotton rounds inside a clear glass candle cloche and setting it on a wooden coaster, you get easy grab-and-go storage that still feels pretty enough to leave out every day.
I’m always looking for practical ways to make everyday spaces feel a bit more cared for, especially the bathroom where small clutter seems to multiply overnight. This is a wonderful project for anyone who wants a cleaner counter, a spa-like touch, or an easy homemade gift, and it works beautifully in family bathrooms, guest baths, and powder rooms alike.
Materials
Instructions
1. Wipe the glass cloche inside and out, then clean the top of the wooden coaster so both pieces are dust-free and ready to use.
2. Turn the coaster upside down and press the four clear non-slip dots onto the bottom, spacing them near the outer edge so the dispenser sits steady on the bathroom counter.
3. If you want the coaster and cloche to stay together, add a very thin ring of clear museum gel to the top edge area of the coaster, keeping it about 1/4 inch in from the rim.
4. Center the glass cloche over the coaster and press gently so it sits evenly; if you prefer a fully removable setup for washing, skip the adhesive and simply set the cloche in place.
5. Stack the cotton rounds into one tall, tidy column, tapping the sides lightly with your fingers to straighten the pile so it looks neat through the glass.
6. Lift the cloche, place the cotton round stack in the middle of the coaster, and lower the cloche over it carefully so the stack stays centered.
7. Adjust the stack as needed with clean fingers or tweezers so the cotton rounds sit straight and fill the cloche nicely without pressing hard against the glass.
8. Set the finished dispenser beside the sink, on a vanity tray, or near skincare items where it’s easy to reach and simple to refill.
Variations & Tips
For small counters: Use a shorter cloche and stack 50 to 70 cotton rounds instead of a full tall column so the dispenser still looks balanced without taking over the vanity.
For a warmer look: Choose an acacia, bamboo, or lightly stained wooden coaster to add a little natural contrast against white towels and pale bathroom walls.
For easy cleaning: Skip permanent glue altogether and use only removable museum gel, especially if you like to rinse the coaster and cloche separately now and then.
For families: Keep the dispenser on a tray with cotton swabs and a small lidded jar for hair ties so everyday bathroom essentials stay together and are easier for everyone to put back.
For picky decorators: If you like a very clean, simple look, leave the wood natural; if you want a more polished finish, seal the coaster with 1 coat of clear matte sealer and let it dry fully before assembling.
Refill tip: When the stack gets low, remove the cloche, restack the cotton rounds in one firm column, and top it off all the way so it keeps that full, spa-like look instead of looking skimpy.
