I’m fond of bathroom projects that solve a small everyday nuisance without turning into a whole weekend’s worth of work, and this loofah holder is exactly that kind of fix. You take a tall clear glass cylinder vase, anchor it with smooth river stones, and tuck natural loofahs into the top so they stay upright, dry a little better, and look neat on the counter instead of drifting from tub edge to sink like they always seem to do in a busy home.

What I like most is that it feels simple but still looks polished, the way a little thoughtful touch can make a plain bathroom feel more finished. If you want a useful organizer that leans spa-like without spending much money, this is an easy afternoon project, and it’s especially nice for guest baths, shared family bathrooms, or any spot where loose bath items tend to pile up.

Materials

1 tall clear glass cylinder vase, 10 to 12 inches tall and 4 to 5 inches wide
5 natural tan loofahs, 5 to 6 inches long each
1 bag smooth gray river stones, 4 to 5 pounds total
4 clear adhesive rubber bumpers, 1/2 inch each
1 teaspoon mild dish soap
2 cups warm water
1 microfiber cloth, 1
1 small towel, 1

Instructions

1. Wash the glass cylinder vase with warm water and the dish soap, then dry it thoroughly with the microfiber cloth so the glass looks clear and polished.

2. Rinse the river stones in a bowl or colander until the water runs clear, then spread them on the towel and let them dry completely so they won’t fog the vase.

3. Turn the vase upside down and attach the 4 clear adhesive bumpers evenly around the base so the finished holder won’t slide or scratch the countertop.

4. Set the vase upright and pour in enough dry river stones to fill the bottom 4 to 5 inches, creating a heavy, stable base that will support several loofahs without tipping.

5. Fluff each natural loofah gently with your hands and trim off any loose fibers so they look full, tidy, and ready to display.

6. Place the first 3 loofahs into the vase with the narrower ends tucked slightly down into the stones, spacing them evenly in a triangle so they stand upright.

7. Add the remaining 2 loofahs between the first group, angling them slightly outward to create a fuller arrangement that looks generous rather than cramped.

8. Rotate the vase a quarter turn at a time and adjust the loofahs until the arrangement looks balanced from every side and the stones still show clearly through the glass.

9. Set the finished holder on the bathroom counter, tub ledge, or a shelf near the bath where the loofahs are easy to grab but the vase won’t be bumped often.

Variations & Tips

For a taller display: Use a 14-inch cylinder vase and add 1 to 2 more pounds of river stones so the base stays heavy enough to support extra loofahs.

For smaller bathrooms: Make a compact version with a vase closer to 8 inches tall and just 3 loofahs, which still looks tidy without taking up too much sink space.

To keep it looking fresh: Swap out the loofahs regularly and wipe the inside glass with a damp cloth every week or so; clear glass always rewards a little upkeep.

For a softer look: Mix a few off-white or light beige stones in with the gray river stones if you want the holder to blend into a warm neutral bathroom.

Placement tip: I like to keep this near the tub rather than right against the sink, because it stays drier and feels more intentional there, almost like a little general-store display for bath essentials.
